AUTHOR INSTRUCTIONS
1. Introduction
"Memorie della Societa` Astronomica Italiana” (MemSAIt) is an International blind Peer-Reviewed Journal devoted exclusively to the publication of conference proceedings and invited review papers. As a norm, review papers are published as part of special issues dedicated to single specialized topics. All papers should be written in English.
2. Apply to publish in MemSAIt
Conference organizers and proceedings editors seeking to publish in this journal should send an e-mail to the Editor in chief (giuliana.fiorentino@inaf.it) and in copy to the Editorial Board (memsait.editorialboard@inaf.it) stating the title and date of the conference, a short scientific rationale (1 page maximum) for the conference and a tentative list of speakers. They should also indicate a date by which they guarantee to have the proceedings volume ready.
3. The acceptance stage
The material sent to the Editor is circulated among the Science Assistant Editors (SAE). The Editor and the SAE will
communicate, within one month, whether or not the proposed proceedings are suitable for publication in this journal.
The decision will concern the scientific merit of the conference as well as the technical possibility of producing a
timely publication. A proceedings volume is then at this stage provisionally accepted for publication and it is assigned
a time-slot for publication, together with a deadline by which the volume must be delivered to the editorial office.
It is assumed that any material submitted for publication is original and its copyright belongs to the author. In case
this were not the case, the fact should be notified to the Editor, and it is the author’s responsability to obtain permission
to publish material already published elsewhere. Failure to notify the Editor of the presence of copyrighted material in an
article may lead to the rejection of the paper.
If the scientific standards are not met, the volume or parts of it, could be rejected at this stage. The volume will be also
checked by the editorial staff to verify that it meets the required typographic quality; if not it will be sent back to the
volume editors for amendment. If the deadline is not met the time-slot assigned to the volume is considered to be lost and
its publication is shifted to the next available time-slot; the resulting delay in publication is unpredictable.
4. Preparing the manuscript
The volume editors will provide the editorial office with the articles in the form of LATEX2ε files using the document class mem.cls, available attached at e-mail from the Editor. The document class mem.cls has been derived from the document class aa.cls of Astronomy & Astrophysics, with kind permission of EDPSciences. The style is the same of that of Astronomy & Astrophysics, and the bibliography should be typeset using the package natbib.sty and the style aa.bst, available from the site ftp.edpsciences.org/pub/aa/readme.html. Figures will be accepted in Postscript (PS), Encapsulated Postscript (EPS), Portable Document Format (PDF), Joint PhotographicExpertsGroup(JPEG). The LATEX2ε source code must include the commands necessary for inclusion of the figures. LATEX2ε files which fail toc ompile or to produce an output compatible with the journal style will be sent back to the volume editors for amendment.
5. Preparing the manuscript with Overleaf
Alternatively the manuscript can be prepared with Overleaf downloading the package NEW-Instructions
